The background story comes from the Four Heavenly Kings in Chinese mythology and legend. Create the Four Heavenly kings with the image of a cat, Duo Wen. “Duowen” means that he is quite proficient in Buddhism and hears about blessings and virtues in all directions. It can also be understood as being knowledgeable and loving to learn. Both worldly Dharma and Buddhism should have the spirit of the thirst for knowledge.
